Relationships Make a Business

May 20, 2019

I started Integrity Power Search out of my parents’ basement at 23 years old.

I only had $3,000 to my name, and I was competing against established search firms.

I made 200 phone calls every day and hand-built a database of 50,000 people while consistently working 100+ hours a week.

I was just grinding, grinding, grinding– and a lot of times, it didn’t work out.

Then, I had a pivotal moment.

I met Nick Seguin of Dynamit - a company that builds software for other companies. At the time, they only had 6 employees, but they were growing rapidly.

Nick believed in me, even though I had no leverage or clients.

In my first year, I placed 6 people with Dynamit – which helped me get my business off the ground. It helped them, too; they now have more than 100 employees.

Since then, Nick has connected me with over 1 million dollars in revenue for IPS.

More importantly, Nick taught me that relationships matter above all else.

In the midst of the grind, don’t ever lose sight of the people that make the business.
