If a candidate seems like a great choice, don’t get hung up on the standard interview questions. Have a conversation with them - human to human, to understand their capabilities and passions.
Otherwise, that “bad software engineer” will go and find another company to contribute to.And you’ll have missed out on what could have been a great hire.
